India Visa Information

Tourist E-Visa Information:

Except Nepalese and Bhutanese nationals, all foreign nationalities including children are required to obtain a visa to travel to India. Furthermore, Indian visa must be obtained before arrival in India.

The Indian e-visa online is currently available to citizens of approximately 180 countries if you intend to visit the country for tourism, business, or medical purposes. You can apply online and get entry authorization to visit India.‍

‍Approved Entry Points:‍

Visitors are required to enter and exit the country from the approved Immigration Check Posts. MANDATORY: New E-Arrival Card Requirement

Effective immediately, Airport Authority of India has discontinued physical Arrival Cards. All passengers arriving in India are now required to complete the digital e-Arrival process before reaching the immigration counter.

Requirement: All foreign nationals must complete the e-Arrival form online. Failure to do so will result in a denial of immigration clearance.

Timeline: We recommend completing this form at the check-in counter or within 72 hours of your flight to ensure hassle-free travel.

How to Apply:

‍Types of Indian Tourist Visa:‍

The tourist visa itself is available in three different types depending upon the duration of the visit and should be applied for according to the purpose of the visit.

• 30-Day Tourist e- Visa:
  The 30 day visa allows visitors to stay in the country for 30 days from the date of entry into the country and is a Double Entry Visa meaning you can enter the country twice within the visa’s validity period.
  However, there is a date of expiry mentioned in the visa before which you would have to enter the country.
  ‍
• 1 Year Tourist e-Visa:
  The 1 year tourist e-visa is valid for 365 days from the date of issue of the e-visa. Unlike the 30 day tourist visa, the validity of the 1 year visa is determined by the date of its issue, not the date of the visitor’s entry into the country.
  This is a Multiple-Entry Visa, meaning you can enter the country multiple times within the period of the visa’s validity.

• 5 Year Tourist e-Visa:
  ‍This visa is valid for 5 years from the date of its issue and is also a Multiple-Entry Visa.‍‍

Visa Application Requirements:

• Provide a digital copy of the Standard Passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of entry and at least 2 blank pages.
• Submit a recent passport size coloured photo. The passport sized photo cannot be a cropped version taken from the passport itself and should be taken     separately.
• Working email address.
• Debit card or credit card for the payment of application fees.

NOTE:  For debit cards, Visa, Mastercard and Maestro are accepted. For credit cards, Visa and MasterCard are accepted.‍

‍Additional Documents:

Applicants may also be asked to provide the following information:

• Proof of possession of sufficient funds.
• Flight details such as return or onward ticket.‍

Pre-Arrival Requirement: ‍

As per the current travel guidelines, travellers to India do not need negative PCR report. But we would request you to please carry your Covid-19 vaccination certificate.

Indian visa must be obtained before arrival in India from the local India Embassy / consulate. OR apply online at least one month in advance as it takes 4 to 5 working days to get an approval if all paperwork is order. The e-visa is stamped on arrival and has a different counter in the immigration hall.  Dharma Adventures, India will not be held responsible for passengers travelling without the correct travel documents.‍
