Discover a different side of Nepal through a journey that blends cultural heritage with remarkable wildlife experiences. Explore the spiritual heart of Kathmandu, home to ancient temples, sacred stupas, and vibrant local life, before venturing into the wilderness of Bardiya National Park.
Set in Nepal’s western lowlands, Bardiya offers exceptional opportunities to spot iconic wildlife, including the Royal Bengal Tiger, one-horned rhinoceros, and a rich variety of birdlife. Combined with meaningful encounters with the indigenous Tharu community, this itinerary provides an authentic introduction to Nepal’s culture, nature, and living traditions.
Upon arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, you will be met and assisted by one of our representatives to complete the immigration and visa formalities.
After collecting your baggage, you will be escorted by the representative outside the airport where our local guide will be waiting in the arrivals section. Transfer to the hotel.
If time permits, transfer to Boudhanath – one of the most imposing landmarks of Kathmandu and is a center of Tibetan Buddhism. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this stupa is built on a massive three level mandala and is one of the largest in the world. A popular tourist attraction, there are many shops around the stupa selling souvenirs, handicrafts, and a variety of exclusive Tibetan specialties and delicacies.
Boudhanath has an extra element as the place gleams with oil lamps while prayer flags soar high fluttering simultaneously. People start their kora (circumambulation) around the stupa in a clockwise direction spinning prayer wheels and the entire place appears magical.
Light butter lamps as an offering of light to the deities. Lighting butter lamps is considered as one of the most common means of making merits and one of the most powerful offerings. The light from the flame symbolizes the wisdom of the awakened mind, dispels the darkness of delusion and mental obscuration.
Overnight at The Dwarika’s, Kathmandu [-/-/D]
After breakfast, you will be transferred to airport for your flight to Nepalgunj.
Upon arrival at Nepalgunj airport, you will be driven to Burhan Wilderness Camp, Bardia, with a Blackbuck Sanctuary sighting en route. Enjoy in-camp activities: paddle boarding, kayaking, or trying a river suit.
Sundowner by the Burhan Deck with complimentary snacks and nonalcoholic drinks. Dinner at the Camp.
Overnight at Burhan Wilderness Camp, Bardia [B/L/D]
Spend a full day exploring Bardia National Park on an immersive jungle safari, including a short, guided walk to experience the wilderness up close. Enjoy a packed lunch within the park, surrounded by nature.
Later, take part in the Agana Ghar Experience, where you will discover the rich traditions and lifestyle of the Tharu community.
Return back to the camp in the evening.
Overnight at Burhan Wilderness Camp, Bardia [B/L/D]
The day begins with morning coffee followed by a serene sunrise river safari. You will then return to the camp for breakfast before setting out on a rhino tracking bush walk. Later, enjoy a hands-on pottery session where you can create your own tiger paw imprint as a memorable souvenir.
After returning to camp for lunch, spend your afternoon relaxing with optional in-camp activities or join a tiger tracking experience. End the day with a sundowner at the Burhan Deck, taking in the beautiful sunset.
Overnight at Burhan Wilderness Camp, Bardia [B/L/D]
After breakfast at the camp, drive to Chisapani (approximately 1.5 hours). From here, enjoy an exciting rafting experience along the Karnali River as you make your way toward Bardiya National Park.
Pause along the journey for a packed picnic lunch by the riverside, surrounded by nature. After the adventure, return to the camp to relax and unwind.
Overnight at Burhan Wilderness Camp, Bardia [B/L/D]
Note: The activities depend on the season and weather conditions at the time of travel on shared basis offered by the camp.
After breakfast at the camp, you will enjoy an optional half-day jungle walk or a community walk in Bardia.
Thereafter, you will be transferred to Nepalgunj Airport for your return flight to Kathmandu (approximately 50 minutes).
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, the tour of Old Kathmandu city. Like any big city, Kathmandu has seen rapid expansion in the last decade, but despite the hustle and bustle so typical of metropolitan cities, its people remain as refreshingly friendly as ever. Retaining its ancient traditions, Kathmandu is blessed by a Living Goddess and is enriched by endless ceremonial processions and events that take to the streets every now and then with throngs of devotees seeking blessings. These religious festivals are steeped in legend and are quite a spectacle with chariot processions and masked dancers often possessed by the spirits of deities.
Take an exciting rickshaw (tricycle) ride honking your way through narrow alleys to the bustling bazaars of Ason. Sit back and relax as you navigate for a slightly different experience of exploring the city like a local.
Continuing tour towards Swoyambhunath Stupa, a UNESCO WORLD Heritage Site which rests on a hillock 3 km towards the western edge of Kathmandu. It is one of the most important and the most sacred Buddhist shrines. Legend has it that when Kathmandu Valley was a lake 2000 years ago, a single lotus flower grew at the center of the lake. When Saint Manjushree, the Bodhisatva drained the lake with a single slash of his sword, the lotus settled on top of a hill and magically turned into a stupa. Thus, Swoyambhunath is also known as a Self-Created stupa.
After sightseeing, transfer to the hotel and check in.

Transfer to the airport in time to board the outbound flight.
