Amankora Gangtey is set in the remote wilderness of the Phobjikha valley. It offers magical views across the bird-strewn gorge and to the empowering Gangtey Goemba, a 16th-century monastery. The valley is part of the Black Mountains National Park, one of Bhutan’s most important sanctuaries. Each winter, it is home to a flock of 300 rare and endangered black-necked cranes that arrive from Tibet. Lodge accommodation and guest facilities are in one structure. The combined living and dining room has comfortable chairs and sofas, and dining tables with views through floor-to-ceiling windows. The lodge provides two massage treatment rooms and changing areas. The suites include wood-paneled walls, a king-size bed, a reading chair, a window banquette, and a bukhari (wood-burning stove).
